Payments, deposits, and expenses policy

Tryypa is a subscription-based pet sitting platform where members exchange care for accommodation. To keep things fair and safe, members should not exchange money directly with each other.

This policy explains what payments are allowed, which costs must be agreed in advance, and what to do if someone asks for money.

Quick summary

  • Tryypa is subscription-based. Members should not send or request payment for a sit.
  • Deposits are not allowed.
  • Any pet or home-related costs must be agreed before the sit is confirmed.
  • Costs incurred without prior approval are not automatically the pet parent’s responsibility.
  • A pet parent cannot charge a sitter for bills or expenses unless it was agreed in advance.

What “no payments” means on Tryypa

Tryypa sits are based on an exchange: pet care in return for a place to stay.

That means members should not:

  • Request or offer cash payment for the sit.
  • Ask for a “booking fee”, “security fee”, or “service fee”.
  • Pay extra to be selected as a sitter.
  • Ask for payment to cover “time” or “labor”.

Deposits and security deposits

Deposits are not allowed, including:

  • Security deposits
  • Reservation deposits
  • Holding fees

If a deposit is requested, do not confirm the sit. Contact Tryypa Support.

Expenses: what must be agreed before confirmation

Some costs can come up during a sit. These are only okay when both sides clearly agree before confirming.

Examples of costs you should agree in advance:

  • Emergency vet costs and how they will be handled
  • Pet food and supplies (what will be provided, what can be reimbursed)
  • Home maintenance that might be needed during the sit
  • Transport needs that are essential to pet care (only if both sides agree)

Best practice: Confirm the agreement in messages so there is a clear written record.

Emergency veterinary care and reimbursement

Pet parents should provide:

  • Vet contact details
  • Emergency instructions
  • A clear plan for what to do if they cannot be reached

If a sitter needs to pay upfront for urgent care, reimbursement should follow the agreement made before the sit.

Utilities, bills, and household costs

Pet parents cannot charge sitters for:

  • Utilities (electricity, water, gas)
  • Internet
  • General household bills

…unless it was explicitly agreed before confirmation.

What sitters can and cannot request

Sitters can:

  • Ask questions about costs before confirming.
  • Decline a sit if expectations are unclear.

Sitters cannot:

  • Request payment for completing the sit.
  • Request deposits or refundable “security fees”.
  • Add new cost requirements after a sit is confirmed.

What pet parents can and cannot request

Pet parents can:

  • Set clear expectations for normal home care.
  • Ask sitters to follow agreed house rules.

Pet parents cannot:

  • Require a deposit to confirm a sit.
  • Charge sitters unexpected fees during or after a sit.
  • Ask sitters to pay for routine bills unless agreed in advance.

If someone asks for money

  1. Do not send money and do not confirm the sit.
  2. Reply in the chat asking to keep the sit aligned with Tryypa’s no-payment policy.
  3. If they continue asking, report the incident to support@tryypa.com and include screenshots if possible.

Disputes about expenses

If there is a disagreement:

  • Check what was agreed in messages before confirmation.
  • Share the relevant details calmly in chat.
  • If needed, contact Tryypa Support with the timeline and evidence.
